Description:

Tangier, a Moroccan port on the Strait of Gibraltar, has been a strategic gateway between Africa and Europe since Phoenician times. Its whitewashed hillside medina is home to the Dar el Makhzen, a palace of the sultans that's now a museum of Moroccan artifacts. The American Legation Museum, also in the medina, documents early diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Morocco in an 1821 Moorish-style former consulate.


Itinerary:


Day 1: Arrive To Tangier

In your arrival in the first day, you will find our representative waiting for you in the airport to take you to the city center of Tangier. “The bride of the North” as the Moroccan people call it; Tangier is Morocco’s great cosmopolitan crossroad, at the heart of the history of Mediterranean civilizations. The region is perfect for travelling all year long: the temperatures never exceed 30°C in summer and float around 12°C in winter. There are many things to see both in Tangier and its surrounding area. The most famous sites in "the City of Strangers" is the Caves of Hercules, the meeting point of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. You will be blown away by the show of colors, sounds and smells of the lively market of Tangier’s medina with the Grand Socco. The most attractive adventure is when you climb up the Kasbah,the city’s oldest historic site and the main attraction that looms over the medina and offers a panoramic view as far as Spain and the Straight of Gibraltar. Surely don’t forget to venture into the bar district that has earned Tangier its reputation as a nightlife capital. Go for a drink in one of the tapas bars or the typical English pubs. After that we will take you to your accommodations so as to spend your first night in tranquility and peace.


Day 2: Tangier - Akechour - Chefchaouen

Waking up early in the morning of to enjoy the sunrise and have a delicious breakfast on the rhythm of the waves sounds of Tangier’s beach. Crossing the marvel Tangier’s coastal road in the second day of our journey, we drive toward Akechour. Crossing a stunning mountain landscape, still isolated and little known to tourists to reach The Pont de Dieu (bridge of God) at Akchour is a beautiful half day hike that will take you to a picturesque douar.You canreach the falls via a short hike from the tiny village. Hike along the river up to the large cascade for a picturesque view, admiring the smaller waterfall along the way. On your way to the big fall, you'll encounter a series of natural pools you can take a dip in or use as backdrop for a picnic break. You will surely enjoy the Cascades d'Akchour (Waterfalls of Akchour); a moment of contemplation! After having lunch there, we drive straight on to the blue-washed city of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. The secretive offers a stunning panorama over the Laou Valley, Chefchaoen offers endless winding narrow streets and picturesque buildings.With its peaceful atmosphere, the blue city offers all the simple charms of an artisan’s town. Strolling between the orange trees and the laurel roses, don’t miss the frog pond! The Kasbah is a natural haven of freshness in the heart of the city. You have to climb to the top of the tower to admire the medina. You’ll find the colours of women’s foutas, a piece of fabric worn in the Rif women over their skirts, stunning. Don’t hesitate to get some pictures wearing the traditional clothes of this blue pearl. After having dinner, you can join your accommodations for a warm shower and spend a calm night in tranquility and peace.


Day 3: Chefchaouen - Fes - Volubilis - Meknes - Rabat

In the morning of the third day of our trip and after having a delicious breakfast, we rush out toward Fez, one of the imperial cities of Morocco and the cultural capital city. Once we are there, a local guide will be waiting for you to take you for a wonderful tour around the most attractive sites of the city with their treasures and diversity. Your starting point will be your visit of Fes-El-Bali at Bab Boujloud, a majestic gate of blue and green zellige tiles that leads directly to the medina’s narrow streets, lined with shops and merchants. Once you reach the square go to Nejjarine’sfondouk home to the Museum of Wood Arts and Crafts: not only are its exhibits remarkable but you will be blown away by the view its tea room offers out onto the rooftops of the medina. Only a few footsteps away from the square you’ll find the Al- Karaouine mosque, Fes’ most beautiful. Follow the fields of medersas from here until you reach the oued and its souks.And visiting also the tomb of the city founder "MoulayIdriss II". The fourteenth century water clock, “the famous Dar el-Magana”, deserves the shots of your cameras lenses and a moment of meditation. After that, we head toward the roman ruins of Volibulis.This deserted city shares its name with a pretty blue flower. Thanks to The relics left behind, you will be taken backto the Stone Age with its mysteries of the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean. The splendid architecture make you feel the humble life of ancestors since the city bears the marks of several civilizations.Do not forget to unleash your camera’s lenses to record this event with beautiful, memorable images. Later on we drive toward the Ismaelian city of Meknas; “The Olive Tree Princess. Meknes is thus the youngest of the imperial cities, but her beauty rivals those of her sisters (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). “The city of a hundred minarets”, houses many structures. The ancient fourteenth century bourgeois residence now houses a colourful bazaar that is worth checking out! Bab El Khemis, the happy gate: it was the main entrance to MedinetEr-RyadEl'Anbari, “the city of the amber garden”. Not far from here is Meknes’ ancient Mellah. You can head to south to the El Hedim Square: art history lovers will relish the Dar Jamaï ethnographic museum. Don’t miss its remarkable exhibit about the Tafilalet region. After that, we rush out to Rabat; the Morocco’s political capital city.This port city on the Atlantic Coast was built in the 12th century on the mouth of the Bouregreg, a great oued of the Middle Atlas. We will reach this city at the sunset. So that, you will enjoy the panoramic view of the mysterious Hassan tower with its colorful lights shed on its walls. It’s really a masterpiece of traditional Moroccan art. Before taking you to your hotel for spending the night there, a walk along the BouregregRiver is a must since it will make you feel the holly sphere and freshness of the city.


Day 4: Rabat - Airport

Our journey comes to its end. The last programmed day of your journey depends on your flight time. If the time allows, you can benefit from a last-hour shopping to buy some souvenirs either for yourselves or your relatives otherwise, we will drive you directly to the airport for the checking in and assistance with the boarding formalities for your flight back to your home country.
