Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Day 1: Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura - Dades Gorges
Starting our magical trip in the early morning from Marrakech toward BoumaleneDades in the our first day of the journey and enjoying some of the High Atlas’ most beautiful sites, the craggy mass of rocky peaks with the highest summits of the Atlas chains. Passing by The Tizin’Tichka Pass, the most spectacular paved mountain pass in Morocco, which lead to the Kasbah of AïtBenhaddou, the most celebrated, filmed and photographed kasbah in Morocco.After that we drive toward Kalaat M’gouna passing by Ouarzazate city to enjoy the fascinating sceneries of the M’Goun Mountain; a part of the High Atlas range, and cross this stunning region, the preserved charm of its little villages, where the movie Gladiator, Prince of Persia or TV series Game of Thrones was shoted, and the splendors of its great mountain spaces. Reaching Boumalene dades which are located at the edge of a desert plateau, at the mouth of the upper Dades valley, an old passage of transhumance,where you will enjoy the sunset of such anoriginal adventure. It’s an ideal starting point for the berber nomad trekking to discover the region at the foot of snowy peaks of the High Atlas.Besides the customs of welcoming of the inhabitants of the urban village who live in a magnificent environment in there.
Day 2: Dades Gorges - Todgha Gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga
After spending a spiritual night in Boumalne Dades, in the beginning of sunrise of the second day morning of we drive toward the village of Merzouga. Passing by Tinrghir and Todra valley,where along its course is repeated 4 sets of grooves and parades. you will see a panoramic view of the old Berber villages of mud on the valleyand go to the Dades and Todra gorges either to cross the Jebel Saghro, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes.Arrived at the Throats you walk under the red cliff. Then we continue to Erfoud where we will have lunch and then we carry on to the magical desert of Merzouga to enjoy the mysterious sea of sand of Erg Chebbi on camels guided by an experienced guide. There you will spend your night under the stars, or if you prefer, in a traditional Berber nomad tent.
Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Alnif - Tazarin - Nkob - Agdez - Marrakech
The next day; the third one; Waking up to witness the beauty of sunrise over the wonderful Merzouga dunes. Then we drive toward Marrakech passing by Rissani, a large palm grove in the center of Tafilalet, 17 km south of Erfoud,where you visit the local market then we continue our journey to Alnif, passing through the beautiful landscapes and Berber villages Tazzarine and toN’kob; the village of the imposing, restored and maintained 45 kesbahs that give an undeniable charm to this peaceful village, planted there in a lunar decor.The oasis, plots of crops and numerous date palms, contributes to the quality of the place. In there, Kasbah, we have lunch. After that we drive straight on to Marrakech passing by Ouarzazate city and theTizin’Tichka Pass again to arrive to Marrakech; the historic heart of cultural heritage, late in the eveningto get a warm shower and have rest.
