Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.
Day 1: Marrakech - Excursion 3 Valley - Ourika Valley - Iminifri
After picking you up from your accommodation in Marrakech, we drive toward the Ourika Valley in our first day from our journey. It’s a very popular attraction.In the heart of the Great Atlas, you have an opportunity to discover the unique landscapes of the mountains and the extraordinary lifestyle of the Berbers at a Moroccan Berber house.As you continue on the road to the Ourika Valley, don’t miss Tnine-l'Ourika, where you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast. It’s an interesting little village where the souk is held on the shores of the Oued. It’s an opportunity to discover the variety of tropical plant specimens in the Ourika’s bio-aromatic garden. Then we carry on through Aghbalou, where you can explore the chance to ride camels, to reach SettiFatma, a village in the Atlas Mountains, where you take a very traditional lunch which is composed of variety of Moroccan dishes and a short hike to view the "7 waterfalls," and enjoy a breathtaking view ofthe picturesqueOurika village in the womb of the Atlas Mountains; a great spot to catch some wonderful panoramic pictures. After that we continue our road toward Iminifri, the Imi-n-Ifri Rock Bridge, a natural bridge built by the Tisslit River dug into the limestoneused for hundreds of years. It's about 5 miles west of Denmate; a unique place where many birds find refuge.Walking down the 300 steps to the gorge below, through the enormous archway and climbed up the steps on the other side is such a challenge to break.And what a silent night to spend in there under the brighten stars in the sky.
Day 2: Iminifri - Happy Valley - Ait Bougemaz
In the morning of the second day, and after taking a traditional and delicious breakfast we head toward Ouzoud waterfalls passing by The valley of AitBougmez “Happy Valley” which is located in the heart of the central high atlas, with a huge plateau at 2,000 meters of altitude, watered from every side with by the M‘Goun Massif. The happy valley offers a wide variety of fabulous landscapes and a Berber culture that’s well preserved by its inhabitants. It’s called Happy Valley or Heaven of Morocco; this name has been attributed by foreign visitors because they were impressed by the hospitality of its inhabitants and their joy especially during their abundant festivities during the summer and autumn to celebrate weddings, religious holidays and harvests. To discover that, we spend the night there in in a traditional and comfortable house.
Day 3: Ait Bougemaz - Ouzoud Waterfalls - Marrakech
Waking up early in the third day in AitBougmez, and tasting a Baldi breakfast made by the local people.Then heading straight away to Ouzoud so as to visit the Ouzoud Waterfalls. The most beautiful waterfalls in Morocco , where you will be welcome into a beautiful guest house for fresh mint tea. It stretches its long ribbon of cultures, a true mosaic with vibrant and changing colors. The environment there is very nice: moderate temperature, green valley, water mills, and shady orchards.A beautiful place for picnicking day trippers and for trekking around the waterfalls on mules as they plunge down rugged cliffs in the Atlas Mountains. After that we drive back to Marrakech to reach the shining lights of the city late in the evening for a relaxing warm shower and a breathing rest in your accommodations.
