Description:

Marrakesh, a former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces and gardens. The medina is a densely packed, walled medieval city dating to the Berber Empire, with mazelike alleys where thriving souks (marketplaces) sell traditional textiles, pottery and jewelry. A symbol of the city, and visible for miles, is the Moorish minaret of 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Marrakech - Taroudant Via Tizi N'tast

Long trips from Marrakech allow you to encounter Berber village life first hand as you make your way to the home of a Berber family in the High Atlas Mountains. So in the first day we leave the busy Marrakech city for Taroudant via TizintTast Mountains. The journey effectively starts once we exceed the city of Tahanaoute (KM 32). The road takeus to the green landscapes of the region of Asni and Ouirgân passing through the N'fis valley where old kasbahs stand, you will reach the TiziN'Test pass (2092 meters). This traditional crossing point was held by the Berber tribes due to the kasbah they had built until the beginning of the century. It’s an opportunity to discover the varied and grandiose panoramas of the High Atlas with its villages of land and terraced crops. Passing through Ouirgane, the road becomes more sinuous and more spectacular. The dam of Ouirgane gives way to OuedN'Fis, which has been digging for thousands of years an impressive canyon.Reaching Taroudant with its ramparts that rise in the middle of Sous valley to discover its nine gates. In a setting of subtle charms the medina seems to have changed very little since the times of conqueros. And what is exceptional is that over this peaceful city float the memories of a flourishing past first Almohad, then Marinid and Saadien, Portuguese and French.Don’t forget to penetrate the Berber souks and discover the treasures hidden in the medina’s little street front stalls. And spending the night in there allows you to quickly change the pace, see space time and gives a promising foretaste to your journey.

Day 2: Taroudant - Tafraout

After a Beldi delicious breakfast in the early morning, we head towards Tafraout in the second day of our trip. From Taroudant to Ttafraout the landscape rivals colorful marvels. As we approach Tafraut, the mountains rise. Above our heads, the rock is tinged with pink, a color that goes wonderfully well with the timid green of spring tufts of grass that line the ground. Located on the foothills of the Anti-Atlas at 1200m altitude, Tafraout ("the trough") owes its name to a vertiginous panorama which is opened on a valley-shaped bowl. The architectural curiosity of this region is the presence of a high concentration of agadirs or collective granaries.Once you arrive you will realize Tafraoute is worth the effort. You can discover the sweets of its precious oils, and especially its famous tagine with almonds and prunes and the incandescent summits offer a striking spectacle at sunset. Thus, pending the night in there gives you a kind of calm and tranquility as well as the spiritual safety.

Day 3: Tafraout - Tiznit - Mirleft

In the third day, waking up to enjoy the sunrise above the foothills of the Anti-Atlas and have breakfast which is served with Amlou; a mixture of almonds, olive oil, argan oil, and other natural ingredients. After that we head toward Mirleft via The vibrant medina of Tiznit. A beautiful road leads us from valley to valley and takes you to a host of different places including the charming Berber villages. Then, gradually, the turns are disentangled. The mountains bristling with argan and wild lavender give way to a wide desert plain. The outskirts of Tiznit are not very attractive. However, as soon as we cross the beautiful fortification that protects the medina, the magic of the old Moroccan cities operates.in there we will have lunch then continue our trip. Finally, like a mirage, Mirleft, a picturesque little seaside town, appears at the end of the straight line. In there theafternoon coffee or tea will most probably be a social event to touch the hot hospitality of the Berber fishermen in the village.Overlooking Mirleft is the old Spanish fort. You can see the Spanish influence in most hilly streets and Moorish buildings in the charming village where you can spend a silence night with its pleasant rhythm ofthewaves roar.

Day 4: Mirleft Fishing Excursion

Mirleft is a good place to relax and get lazy. Waking up in the morning of the fourth day on the sounds of a gullible sniper and get a social morning coffee on the breath-taking beachand beautiful landscapes. The sites in there are the best places for unforgettable fishing sessions so as to discover the thrill of fishing, taking advantage of the beauty and wealth of the Berber community who makes its living through fishing and still retains its friendly atmosphere and traditional Moroccan way of life. And what make the picnic awesome is that, we'll cook the caught fish in the BBQ on the beach. It will be very delicious for lunch there. The beaches are peaceful enough to make a relaxing afternoon stroll and exploring the landscape. After enjoying its fish-bearing waters, its fine sandy beaches and its ocher cliffs glowing still more in the evening sun, we go back to your accommodations in Mirleftto get dinner and have a calming night at the seaside.
